The Glory of God in Creation...

There is something to be said about standing in front of a mountain, or at the edge of the ocean when the tide in in and the waves will go no farther, or being in the middle of a mighty thunderstorm. If you find yourself in the midst of these mighty works there is no denying that there is someone or something greater than yourself at work. A wise man once said that no one drives through the Columbia Gorge and says "Check me out! Look how cool I am." I've known many who have known the love of the creator and witnessed a mighty work and stood amazed at the power that was at work, and i've known many who denied the existence of One supreme God, but still cannot deny that there is something bigger than themselves at work. Nature is a universal language. All can see and understand the beauty and might that is portrayed in just one colorful leaf in the fall or of the calming force behind the crashing waves.

As we grow older and busier we naturally move away from stopping and gazing at the beauty that is around us. Our lives are busy and fast paced, there is no time to stare at a changing leaf or watch a sunset, we must keep going, one thing to another. But even when we ignore the beauty around us, it is still there. I know some passionate people (i am said to be one too) that cannot help but stop and be overwhelmed by the majestic glory of the world around them. A sunset does not go unnoticed, a thunderstorm unheard, or a blooming flower unseen. We MUST witness what is going on. But there is also something inside of us that cannot keep what we see to ourselves. Just as we MUST stop and gaze upon the beauty of the earth we also MUST share the wonder of what unfolds before us. That is my task, my goal, and my aim. To share in pictures what i cannot convey with words. I capture a moment in time and share it with others for days and years to come and it can speak thousands of words for itself.
